MAJORIE WOODS; I would like to share some Jordan research in hopes it will help some one else and help me link to the parents of three Jordans who were very early to Indiana and Ill.
This Ruban/Ruben/Reuben Jordan married Patsey Wells/Wills in Gibson Co
In. Dec. 27,1816. His will was witnessed April 2, 1824 in the presence of
Levi Jordan, Disey Jordan, Pearson Newsom, and Robert Frazer and recorded
May 3, 1824 in Edwards Co Il. This will mentions several married
children,so the marriage to Patsey had to be a second marriage. I have no
idea about who the mother of all the his children could be. This Will is
found In Edwards Co Il. Probate Records Book Oaths, Bonds, and Letters
(1815-1841) pages 11 and 12 and reads :
(It is copied just as it was written with out any corrections of miss
spelled words.)

In our database of Illinois Primitive Baptist members, I have the
names of James, John, Joseph and Levi Jordan who were in Illinois at an
early date. I don't have much info on them, although I believe I have a
note that Joseph may have been one of the first settlers in Franklin Co.
Levi and James were both members of the Okaw Church near Shelbyville.
Joseph was a charter member of the church at Webb's Prairie which my Webb
ancestors helped establish.
Sincerely, Elder Robert Webb 1/4/1999
